NYU Game Center Lecture Series Presents Joost Van Druenen

Join us for the second installment of the 2020-21 NYU Game Center Lecture Series with Professor Joost Van Dreunen. Joost will share his unparalleled expertise on the business of video games drawn from a career advising the top studios. His talk will explore the tension between creativity and commerce, debunk the myth of the lone genius, and show new paths forward for the games industry.

Joost van Dreunen teaches at the NYU Stern School of Business and is the author of One Up: Creativity, Competition, and the Global Business of Video Games. Previously Joost was co-founder and CEO of SuperData Research, a games market research firm, which was acquired by Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN) in 2018. He currently serves as an advisor to firms active in interactive entertainment, and publishes a weekly newsletter on gaming, tech, and entertainment called SuperJoost Playlist. Joost received a MA from the University of Amsterdam and a PhD from Columbia University.
