About the Program
Course Number: DWPG-NT 1
The Future Dramatic Writers Workshop is a free, highly-focused academic and professional writing program for students who have the talent and the will to write for theatre, film and television.
The Dramatic Writers Workshop gives students a taste of what it means to study and write drama, as well as an idea of what life as a dramatic writer is like.
From February to May, students:
- learn the fundamentals of dramatic structure through lecture and discussion sessions on playwriting, screenwriting and television/episodic writing
- learn how to develop scripts in each medium in the writing workshop sessions, and present their work in a live final showcase
- experience the same rigorous basic training as undergraduates, who take courses in playwriting, screenwriting, and television/episodic writing.
