Daniel is a heartfelt comedy about David Weisman, a high school English teacher who serves as a mentor to his queer student, Daniel, and, in the process, begins to question his own gender. He grapples with what it means to be a caring teacher in a system that’s deeply tied to binaries, doesn't account for the needs of every student, and is rebelling against the threat of progress. Daniel is the winner of the 2022 Goldberg Award for Playwriting.
