John Dietrich, Manager of Faculty Services and Academic Advisor, has been involved with several theatrical endeavors this fall.
His new musical, Lautrec at the St. James, for which he wrote book and lyrics, in collaboration with composer Julianne Wick Davis of Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing, was produced and presented at the National Alliance of Musical Theatre Conference here in New York for theatrical producers nationwide. The musical was one of 8 new musicals selected from over 250 entries.
Immediately following, he began work choreographing the new musical Dolly Parton’s Smokey Mountain Christmas Carol, an adaptation of Dicken’s classic set in 1930’s Appalachia with a score written by Ms. Parton. The show opens in early December in Boston.
