Potential Dramaturgy Courses

If dramaturgy is the study of how theater works, then almost all of your classes can be considered dramaturgy classes! That said, the minor is meant to guide your specific interest in dramaturgy and to help you articulate your particular orientation toward the field. Part of the process of getting the minor is working with the Dramaturgy Minor Faculty Coordinator to develop a suite of courses that makes the most sense for you and your interests. The process is the point!

Below you will find a list of eligible courses and some examples of how you might orient your studies but there are many other ways to do so.

Please note: Not all courses are offered during all academic sessions. Check Albert for the course schedule and work with your academic advisor to plan accordingly.

You may appeal to the Director of the Dramaturgy Minor to have other classes included. If you would like to do so, please reach out to the Dramaturgy Faculty Coordinator, Professor Lauren Whitehead, with any questions at law444@nyu.edu.
