Shaka King '13 (MFA, Kanbar Institute, Grad Film) was featured recently in the New York Times for his film Judas and the Black Messiah. The film premiered in theaters and on HBO on February 12, 2021, and tells the story of Black Panther leader Fred Hampton.
King premiered Judas and the Black Messiah at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival to high acclaim, and spoke with Professor John Tintori about the film at our annual TISCH ON MAIN.
