Nia DaCosta '11 (BFA, Kanbar Institute, Film & TV) has been tapped to direct the latest film in the Marvel universe, Captain Marvel 2, starring Brie Larson.
DaCosta is the first black woman to direct a Marvel film, and the fourth woman. Past directors include Chloé Zhao (Graduate Film), the director of the upcoming Marvel film The Eternals.
