2021 Oscars
The 93rd Annual Academy Award Nominations were announced on Monday, March 15th via a virtual ceremony hosted by Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas. Congratulations to the Tisch alumni nominated for an award!
Chloé Zhao (Kanbar Institute, Graduate Film) made history as the first woman of color to be nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards for her film Nomadland. Nomadland is nominated for 5 awards, including Best Picture.
Shaka King's '13 (MFA, Kanbar Institute, Graduate Film) film Judas and the Black Messiah, nominated for Best Picture, premiered this year at the Sundance Film Festival. Watch a conversation with King and Graduate Film professor John Tintori about the film here!
