Dan Venning recently defended his dissertation, "Shakespeare for the Volk: Shakespeare and the Development of the Idea of German Nationhood, 1817 - 1867." He has published book and theatre reviews in a wide variety of academic journals. He has also published articles in Performing Arts Resources, Forum for Modern Language Studies, and Asian Theatre Journal.
