James Bascara

James Bascara is a multidisciplinary artist, experimental animation filmmaker, and editorial illustrator.  His practice includes painting, animated films, ceramics, and zines, which have been shown internationally in exhibitions, screenings, and conventions.  His films have screened at Slamdance Film Festival, Rooftop Films, MoMA PS1, Bob Baker Marionette Theater, and more.  His illustrations can be seen in The New York Times, The New Yorker, WIRED, The Hollywood Reporter, and Scientific American, and have been included in the American Illustration and Society of Illustrators annual books.  James has a BS in Engineering from Rutgers University, and a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts.
