Arts Politics M.A. Candidate (’18) Ikram Lakhdhar invites you to an evening of poetry reading and conversation with her mother, Tunisian Poet, Sondes Baccar. For her independent study, Lakhdhar translated excerpts from Baccar’s poetry from Arabic to English for the first time and will share moments of intimacy and discovery during the process. This filial exchange is an exploration of the role of translation to transcend cultural and linguistic borders. New York University congratulates the Class of 2018! The 186th All-University Commencement Exercises will be celebrated in New York at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Commencement ceremonies will also take place in May at NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU Shanghai, with individual school convocations occurring throughout New York City.
