Honoring, Elevating, and Recapitalizing Underrepresented Stories
The Tisch Initiative for Creative Research is excited to announce the 2023 HEAR US grantees!
Launched in December 2020, HEAR US (Honoring, Elevating, and Recapitalizing Underrepresented Stories) is designed to celebrate and advance student projects that center BIPOC voices and stories and to fund students actively working to combat systemic marginalization in the creation and leadership of artistic and scholarly works. This program is part of Tisch's ongoing commitment to dismantling racism and addressing historical gaps in support, communication, and resources.
Congratulations to the 2023 HEAR US grantees:

As members of the HEAR US Cohort, these students will receive one-on-one professional mentorship, a research grant, and a curated cohort experience to help develop their projects over the next six months. Their work will help catalyze a long-term cultural shift at Tisch and in their professional fields. The program will culminate in an informal works-in-progress mini-fest during Tisch's annual Community Week celebration in October.
We express deep gratitude to all the students who applied for this program and shared their experiences and feedback with us and to the panelist/mentors whose generosity continues to make HEAR US possible.
