Project

CAFÉ CON LECHE is an original romantic comedy musical about Alejandra, an accountant deep in the closet, who works at her parents’ mom-and-pop donut shop, California Cappuccino Donut Coffee. When the bank threatens to foreclose on her parents’ American dream, Alejandra, with the help of charming and unconventional social media manager, Megan, opens up Café con Leche, a secret LA-themed coffee spot to run after-hours at the donut shop in order to make ends meet. As her success with Café con Leche and her feelings for Megan begin to grow, Alejandra starts to question just how much she’s willing to hide to keep her parents’ love. A story set amidst the chaos of LA traffic and the need for morning coffee, CAFÉ CON LECHE explores the cycle between daughters who fail their mothers, mothers who would rather be right than happy, and how choosing joy and love is how we survive day to day.
