Photography & Imaging student Eric Hart has capped off a productive summer with two simultaneous features on the pages of major magazines. He photographed Flo Milli for Rolling Stone and was selected by Men's Health as part of The 2020 Project, which profiled twenty 20-year-old men who are challenging America's notions of activism, masculinity, creativity and politics.
In an Instagram post, Eric commented that the shoot for Rolling Stone was "a dream come true".
As part of The 2020 Project organized by Men's Health, Eric spoke poigniantly about his artwork and vision for justice and change:
One of the photographs has seven models, all Black men, all standing together, with their heads looking up to the sky. I want it to embody a new and important message, that Black men can lean on one another. We do not protect with our individual strength alone. True power comes through unity. - Eric Hart Jr.
These major features are just the most recent in Eric's portfolio and impressive list of accomplishments. In addition to being named a Gordon Parks Scholar, Eric's artwork is currently featured as a mural on the front windows of NYU Tisch at 721 Broadway.
