DPI Alum Hank Willis Thomas Joins Public Art Fund’s Board

Hank Willis Thomas (BFA Photography '98) has been appointed to the Public Art fund's board of directors. As reported by ArtForum, he joins an "international group of philanthropists and artists who support Public Art Fund's mission to present free art experiences to a broad NYC public."

Nicholas Baume, the Public Art Fund's director and chief curator enthusiastically said of the appointment, "His thoughtful and boundary-pushing work in the public realm, as well as his engagement with questions and issues at the core of our current momemt, make Hank an invaluable addition to our board leadership."

Hank Willis Thomas received his BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and his MFA in photography, along with an MA in Visual criticism, from California College of the Arts (CCA) in San Francisco. He is Brooklyn-based and has work currently held in numerous public collections including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
