NYU Tisch Department of Photography & Imaging alum Diane Meyer (BFA '99) opened her new solo exhibition, Berlin, at Klompching Gallery in Dumbo, Brooklyn on Thursday, November 14, 2019.

The exhibition commemorates the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, showcasing a series of 43 photographs tracing the entire 96 mile path of the former wall.  in which hand-embroidered cross-stiches are directly applied over where it used to stand. Made over the course of 7 years, they all feature cross-stitched embroidery resembling pixels which have been integrated into the photography itself; a signature mark of her artwork. Such juxtaposition reveals a semitransparent depiction of a physically non-existent landscape that nonetheless remains a presence in history and human memory.

The exhibition will be on view through January 10, 2020. In conjunction with the exhibition, Meyer will be giving an artist talk on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 3pm to 4pm at Klompching Gallery.

Klompching Gallery is located at 89 Water Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201, and gallery hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 6pm and by appointment.
