The New York Times has featured Tess Mayer's work depicting farm life in rural New York State.
The project, "Farming Delaware County" comprised Mayer's senior thesis, and was presented at Tisch in early 2016. In creating the work, Tess drew upon her experience growing up in the agricultural town of Bovina, NY. Many of her subjects are friends, family members, and neighbors— both longtime residents newcomers who left behind urban life to start organic farms.
Since graduating from Tisch in May 2016, Tess Mayer has worked as a teaching assistant at the Tisch Summer High School Program and as a reporter at Interview Magazine.
