Alum Sam Contis ('04) Receives Aaron Siskind Foundation Grant

Department of Photography and Imaging alum Sam Contis (Tisch '04) has received the Aaron Siskind Foundation's Individual Photographer's Fellowship grant. Since the program's inception in 1991, the grant has been offered to U.S. artists working in still photography and photography­-based media. 

Sam Contis (b.1982) received her BFA in Photography and Art History from New York University and her MFA in Photography from Yale University. 

Her work has been exhibited in the US and Europe and most recently at Klaus Von Nichtssagend Gallery in New York City. Her photographs have appeared in publications including The New York Times Magazine, Capricious and Blind Spot. She is a recipient of the Tierney Fellowship and a Paul Huf Award nominee. Her photographs are in the collections of the Yale University Art Gallery and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. See her work at samcontis.com.
