ISO Magazine is launching the spring issue entitled Solace on May 14th and the publication will be followed by an Instagram Live event at 8 pm EST, which will include a handful of the contributors to talk about their works.

The six artists with features in the issue are:

Amarise Carreras - is a photo-based performance artist from Queens, New York City. They received their BFA in Photography and Film from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018. They examine their past and present history through co-writing narratives that center their matriarchal lineage in relationship to their queer, brown body. They explore identity within their diasporic experience through installation, performance, and documentation. Amarise has shown at Candela Gallery, Side x Side Contemporary, and Transmitter. They are currently featured in Aperture Magazine’s Utopia, Winter 2020, and a 2021 Photography Fellow with En Foco Inc.

Chloe Dugourd (DPI '21) -  is a senior Photography & Imaging major at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She is a passionate image maker exploring various aspects of Photography, Videography, Graphic Design, Animation, and Social Media Marketing.

Clara Reed (DPI '21) - is an artist from Twin Falls, Idaho who is a senior at DPI at Tisch School of the Arts. She is a co-editor and founder of She x Magazine, and studies Art History and Photography and Imaging at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She is fascinated by individual expression, the female experience, and how memories and affects of our pasts impact us in our endeavors of the future.

Ayesha Kazim (DPI '21) - is a Photography & Imaging major at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her photographic practice involves producing clean, refined portraits that bring a fresh, lively energy to her subjects through colorful, yet coordinated settings and styling. Having honed her craft while living and learning in fourteen countries during her formative years, Ayesha’s work draws inspiration from a wide range of cultures and experiences that aid in her ability to connect with her subjects and produce meaningful portraits

Lance Langel - is a photographer and director from Tulsa, OK and Northwest AR based in Savannah, GA. With an upbringing rooted in the nuances of the South, his past influences his contemporary work in celebrating individualism, and exploring the human experience. His use of color reflects his interpretations of the world that mirrors a sense of saturated isolation. Through his own experience and the experiences of others, Lance hopes to create work that speaks to themes of coming of age, beauty, and connectivity.

Oscar Lewin (DPI Alum) - is a Japanese American artist from Austin, Texas. He graduated from NYU Tisch photo in 2017. He now lives down the street from the bushwick community darkroom with his girlfriend, Annie, and his cat Becket.
