Lab Access for DPI Alumni

COVID-19 Update

The DPI Alumni lab access program is suspended for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Guidelines for Consideration

Alumni of the Department of Photography and Imaging are eligible to utilize the department's digital labs in exchange for volunteer work during our semi-annual Portfolio Reviews.

To be considered as a Volunteer Reviewer, please contact Patricia McKelvin.

Access Rules

Access includes the use of our two digital labs and the computers, scanners, and printers therein, in addition to our Epson 9890 wide format 44-inch printers.

  • Use of Flextight virtual drum film scanners and Epson large format printers requires a Tech Out by a member of our Technical Staff. See the Contact Us page to request.
  • Purchase of approved inkjet achival paper is required for use in all printers within DPI Digital Labs, including the 44-inch wide format printers.
    • Ask DPI Technical Staff if you need assistance identifying media.
    • Note: Newsprint and transparency paper are never approved media for Epson inkjet printers.

Lab access is offered for a one-month period and all days to be used consecutively.

Lab access must be used within one year of being granted and cannot be banked or rolled over.

Lab access is non-transferrable and can only be redeemed by the awardee.

Lab access does not include the ability to check out cameras, lights, or related equipment from the Equipment Hub, but may be extended to digital lab related items such as Wacom tablets.

Lab access privileges are subject to change without prior warning. When using your awarded time, please contact a member of the DPI Technical Staff for updates to schedule, lab access, and availability.
