Hailey Himelright

Hailey Himelright is an educator, dance practitioner, and scholar. Her scholarly interests include embodied knowledge, pedagogical practices, neo-colonialism, and women/gender/sexuality studies. During her undergraduate career she founded a student-led dance organization at the University of New Mexico with the aims of expanding access to dance education and performance opportunities where she produced and directed six community showcases. Additionally, she was a Student Teacher for Conexiones, a study-abroad program through the Honor’s College, where she co-taught “403: Colonialism and Empire” in Spain where she was introduced to active-learning models. Her undergraduate research focused on the intra-group hierarchies and boundary making within the pole dance community and she presented this work at the Southwest Pop Culture/American Culture Conference in February of 2026.
