Isabella Ovalle
B.A. Candidate
My name is Isabella Ovalle (she/her), and I’m from Barranquilla, Colombia. I’m interested in movement, community-based art, storytelling through the body, and the intersections of performance and social change. My creative and academic work is currently focused on exploring how dance, theater, and collaborative practices can be used as tools for empowerment, particularly among young girls in immigrant and underserved communities. I am drawn to dance, performance, physical theater, and interdisciplinary forms, and I’m curious about how performance can help us understand identity, memory, and human behavior in both personal and collective ways.
