Elsie McNulty
B.A. Candidate
Hi, I’m Elsie McNulty! I’m currently a Freshman. I love theatre, fashion, film, and visual arts, and I’m excited to explore and analyze these passions here in Performance Studies. I love to act, write, and paint, and in my free time, I love to visit art museums and walk around the beautiful city. I am very interested in exploring the history of performance as well as its cultural and societal importance. Recently, I participated in an event with the student-run Broke People Play Festival, and I hope to become involved with more student groups at Tisch in the next four years. I currently work as an office assistant for the Department of Performance Studies.
Why PS @ NYU?
I chose Performance Studies because being a student in this program allows you to truly let your curiosity run wild. There are so many different facets of performance to tackle, and so many different lenses through which to analyze them. I chose Performance Studies because I am interested in performance, but also the cultural and social implications of it. Furthermore, in this program, I have opportunity to explore parts of performance that I may have never even considered. I chose Performance Studies because it combines my passion for art with my passion for cultural and anthropological studies, as well as critical thinking and analysis.
