Anthony Sansonetti is a PhD candidate in the Department of Performance Studies at NYU. Their dissertation, "Transfeminist Educational Theatre for Young Audiences," is a study of educational theatre for K-12 audiences by transfeminist artists in the Americas. It argues that transfeminist theatre and performance art is important in children's lives for its queer/trans-affirming, playful, and collaborative body/movement-based pedagogy. They also maintain an applied theatre practice of their own with the NYU-adjacent Queer and Trans Young People's Club.
