Café Play
WHEN: September 16 - October 28.
WHERE: Cornelia Street Café
Performance Studies alum Erin B. Mee (MA '97 and PhD '04) will be remounting Café Play, her site-specific play at the historic Cornelia Street Café in Greenwich Village. The show had a successful run in 2017, and returns for six weeks, from September 16 to October 28.
Café Play transforms the Cornelia Street Café into an immersive and interactive wonderland. Offering a unique glimpse into the lives of New Yorkers - from the waitress to the cockroach to the teacup on the table - Café Play runs the gamut from the hilarious to the profound and transformative. Audiences enjoy a three-course meal during the show (included in the ticket price) to fully immerse themselves in the world of the play.
Time Out said it was "one of the best Off-Off Broadway shows in NYC," and No Proscenium wrote: "Café Play is a genuine exploration of the way we live now that offers plenty of laughs, charming innovation, aching vulnerability, and the bite of incisive social satire."
