Diego Cristian Saldaña (MA '17) will perform a score poem at the V Latin American Poetry Festival of New York. This performance is also in collaboration with Performance Studies MA Candidates Jeongyun Lee and Zhen Cheng.
"Dissensus", for koreanspeaker and spanishspeaker, is a score-poem commissioned for the V Latin American Poetry Festival. It's an exercise of translation of poetry. Instead of translating back an forth to our different languages we use the phonographical writing systems of Korean and Spanish to share the same mouth positions and soundings as a music score. This poem is about mysterious paths of communication outside the mediatized economics of language, money and profit.
The performance will be the last event in the closure celebration of the Festival. 18:30hrs. Friday, November 18th. Octavio Paz Gallery at the Mexican Embassy. 27 East, 39th Street, NY.
