Carlito Carvalhosa (Nara Roesler Books, 2025)

A new publication, Carlito Carvalhosa (Nara Roesler Books, 2025), offers the most comprehensive monograph to date on the late Brazilian artist (1961–2021), whose work redefined the boundaries of materials, space, and perception in contemporary art. The volume includes essays from Performance Studies Professor André Lepecki, in addition to Luis Pérez-Oramas, Lúcia K. Stumpf, Geaninne Gutiérrez-Guimarães, Daniel Rangel, and Bernardo Mosqueira, alongside an extensive illustrated chronology tracing Carvalhosa’s experimental practice across media and scale.

To mark the book’s release, Lepecki, along with Geaninne Gutiérrez-Guimarães and Luis Pérez-Oramas, will join in a public conversation at Amant’s bookstore and café, reflecting on the lasting significance of Carvalhosa’s work.
