Why PS @ NYU?

I chose to major in Performance Studies because of my deep passion for exploring the transformative power of art and its impact on both individuals and society. This interdisciplinary field offers a unique lens through which to examine the intersection of theater, dance, music, and cultural expression. I am captivated by the idea of dissecting the nuances of human performance, understanding how it communicates narratives, shapes identities, and challenges conventions. By delving into the academic study of performance, I aim to gain insights into the historical, social, and psychological dimensions of artistic expression. This major not only aligns with my personal creative pursuits but also promises to equip me with a versatile skill set applicable to various professions, like the arts administration and beyond.
