Sol Cabrini de la Ciudad

Sol Cabrini (Trans)mits research between moving image, trans dysfunctional bodily conformity, and sound editing as a way of productive fragmentation. In the wake of this, Cabrini’s research under the collaboration of solYchaski extends such concepts to interpret objects in space between public and private embodied memories. Maneuvering these interpretations as reenactments that are never the same, Cabrini is interested in how we can account for ephemera as well as the shape-shifting presence of trauma potential. She credits when dreams become nightmares as a place of philosophical, critical, and digital inquiry. Her music, off-broadway, and choreography work has also been documented under the pseudonym Sol Patches amongst Free Street Theater.

WHY PS @ NYU?

I chose to study at Performance Studies to rethink and reorient attachments to philosophy, narrative, history, politics, meaning, and computational structures.
