Rachel is from Norman, Oklahoma, and has been working at the intersection of dancing, dance making, writing, and research since high school, and has been improvising and refining her way ever since. She also has quite a thing for running, cooking, flowers, and fairy lights.

Areas of concentration/study:

Dance; dance and drill team; sport; theories of the body; gender; American studies

Why PS @ NYU?

I chose Performance Studies at NYU because I am strongly driven by a  sense of the performative force of the body and the bodily aesthetics of high art, quotidian practices, and everything in between - and I wanted a stronger theoretical and methodological grounding in all of that! NYU's strengths in these areas felt like the perfect fit.
