Samara Davis

Samara Davis is a writer and editor currently living in Los Angeles. Her dissertation project, Making Room: Architectures of Self and Social Care in Contemporary Art and Performance concerns the intersections of performance, architecture, and feminism, focusing on ways to creatively and constructively challenge architecture’s normativizing tendencies and effects. Included are chapters on contemporary artworks by Yve Laris Cohen, Park McArthur, and Simone Leigh. She has edited for Art & Education (an online partnership between Artforum and e-flux), TDR, and Women and Performance: a journal of feminist theory, and published works on Artforum.com, Bookforum.com, in TDR, and the Movement Research Performance Journal.
