SMALL TOWN STORY: A Musical about a Musical That Rocked a Community co-written by GMTWP Alum Brandon James Gwinn (Cycle 19) was presented in a concert version at Feinstein's/54 Below on August 14th.
With music and lyrics by Gwinn and book and lyrics by Sammy Buck, the show, hailed as “a work of explosive power,” explores how two families in a North Texas town deal with a community controversy over a high school production of Rent. Combining modern Broadway pop and country roots, the exhilarating songs were performed by the acclaimed cast of American Theater Group’s recent World Premiere production at SOPAC.
