The graduating class from The Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program presented their newly created/written thesis musicals in a series of virtual showcases on May 20th and 21st, 2021. These "sizzle reels" were the culminating product of the students' second and final year at the Program, during which they had spent their time meeting with faculty advisors who helped guide them through the process of writing full-length musical theater pieces.
This year, the Program decided to allow students to explore a variety of different forms through which musical theatre stories could be told. Feature films, animated series, podcast musicals, musical virtual reality experiences, immersive event-type musicals, and even traditional stage musicals were just some of the forms that the students chose to tell their stories.
