Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alums Gordon Leary and Julia Meinwald (both cycle 16) will present the world premiere of their new musical THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN at Flint Repertory Theatre starting March 31st through April 16th, 2023.
With book & lyrics by Leary and music by Meinwald, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN tells the story of gymnasts Amanda Borden, Amy Chow, Dominique Dawes, Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, Jaycie Phelps and Kerri Strug who have worked their entire young lives to get to the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. With the whole world watching, can they survive the pressure to win the gold medal and see their faces on a Wheaties box?
