Program Alums Present New Work at Greenroom 42

Friday, Dec 3, 2021

Three Graduate Musical Writing Program Alums will have their work presented at NYC's cabaret venue The Greenroom 42.

On December 5, 2021 alums Richard Lindenfelzer and Jess Newman (both Cycle 28) will present selections from their two new musicals SCARLET and GOLD. Both shows feature book and music by Newmand and book and lyrics by Lindenfelzer.

SCARLET takes us five hundred years in the future to a world ravaged by a changing climate. This steampunk pop-era imagines what might happen if global leaders are forced to make drastic and messy decisions to combat global warming.

GOLD follows a high school outcast who longs to feel important. When she runs away to rural Colorado in the hopes of finding her estranged grandfather and long-lost buried treasure, she is forced to reckon with the past, a family legacy, and herself.
