Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alum Peter Mills (Cycle 8) presented the musical THE HELLO GIRLS at the Kennedy Center and Symphony Space this May. With music and lyrics by Mills and book by Mills and Cara Reichel, the musical is inspired by the book of the same name and follows intrepid heroines who served as bi-lingual telephone operators on the front lines, helping turn the tide of World War I. They then returned home to fight a decades-long battle for equality and recognition, paving the way for future generations.

Prospect Theater Company produced two evenings of the musical, one at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and the other at Peter Norton Symphony Space in Manhattan. Music directed by Ben Moss, choreographed by Christine O'Grady, and directed by Cara Reichel.
