Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alum presented the new musical THE HOMEFRONT at In The Works~In The Woods Festival at the Forestburgh Playhouse September 18-20, 2026.
With music and lyrics by Sam Salmond and book co-written by Jenny Stafford (both Cycle 20), THE HOMEFRONT follows best friends - one black and one white - during the aftermath of WWII in the USA, leading a movement to fight for the jobs of women workers who were let go when the men returned home. When it becomes clear that the opportunities offered to black women and white women will no longer be the same after the war, they have to decide what they're willing to sacrifice in the fight.
