Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alums Marella Martin Koch and Aferdian (both Cycle 24) had an online premiere of their new Jane Austen-inspired concept album 'Elinor and Marianne' by The Rally Cat on Dec. 25 – 31, 2021.
With music by Aferdian and words by Koch, “Elinor & Marianne” is the story of two sisters whose lives are thrown into chaos by their father’s sudden death. The work stars mezzo-soprano Meagan Martin as Elinor Dashwood, and soprano Jana McIntyre as Marianne Dashwood. The two singers will be joined by pianists Douglas Sumi and Chérie Roe.
“Elinor & Marianne” received a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council 2020 Creative Engagement Award and was recorded and mastered at Sound on Sound Studios in 2021. The free streams will be available via this LINK.
