Program Alum Michael R. Jackson Wins Tony Awards for 'A STRANGE LOOP'

Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alum Michael R. Jackson (Cycle 14) won two Tony awards for 'Best Book of a Musical' and 'Best Musical' for his new musical A STRANGE LOOP at the 2022 Tony Awards Ceremony.

The show, which features book, music, and lyrics all by Jackson and features musical direction by another Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alum, Rona Siddiqui (Cycle 22), has garnered many prestigious awards already, including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and several Drama Desk Awards, originally premiered at Off-Broadway's Playwrights Horizons in 2019, produced in collaboration with Page 73 Productions, followed by a production at Washington D.C.'s Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company earlier this year. The show opened on Broadway in April 2022 and can be seen at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway.
