Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program alums Helen Park & Max Vernon (both Cycle 22) will open their new musical KPOP on Broadway starting October 2022.
The show, which had its world premiere Off-Broadway at Ars Nova in New York City on September 5, 2017 features a score by both Park and Vernon and a book by collaborator Jason Kim. The show will open for previews at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre on October 13, 2022.
As global superstars put everything on the line for a special one-night-only concert, they face struggles both cultural and personal that threaten to dismantle one of the industry’s hottest labels. Featuring a cast of K-pop and musical theater stars, including Luna — founding member of (f)x — KPOP is a multimedia experience that explores the relentless discipline, raw talent, and commercial ambition behind the international sensation.
