Zach Redler (Cycle 18 and Adjunct Instructor)
GMTWP Alum and Adjunct Instructor, Zach Redler (Cycle 18), was named the winner of the American Prize for composition (opera, theater, musical theater, film, dance division).
Redler has also received commissions to write opera for Opera On the James (June premiere featuring text by local youth via The Listening) and Houston Grand Opera (2021).
His new opera The Falling and The Rising will have streamed performances on Memorial Day featuring performers from four past productions (Opera Memphis, New Orleans Opera, Army Soldier’s Chorus, and Seattle Opera) and which will is also scheduled for productions at San Antonio Opera, San Diego Opera, Opera Memphis, Opera on the James, New Orleans Opera, Arbeit Opera Theater, Opera Carolina, Anchorage Opera, and Opera Grand Rapids.
