Gettin' the Band Back Together by GMTWP Alum Mark Allen (Cycle 15)
Cycle 15 alum Mark Allen will have his score for the new Broadway musical GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER recorded for the original Broadway cast album which will be released later this year. The album will be produced by at Sh-K-Boom Records.
The new musical comedy currently playing at the Belasco Theatre through September 16th celebrated its official opening August 13. The show, directed by Tony winner John Rando with book by Ken Davenport
Allen composed the score for the musical with book by Ken Davenport and Grundleshotz and additional material by Sarah Saltzberg. John Rando (URINETOWN) directed the production.
The show follows Mitch Papdopoulos (Mitchell Jarvis, Rock of Ages), who always wanted to be the next Bruce Springsteen but left those daydreams behind for a day job. When this big-shot banker is handed a pink slip on his 40th birthday, he’s forced to move back in with his mom (five-time Golden Globe® nominee Marilu Henner, “Taxi”) in New Jersey.
