Michael R. Jackson - Cycle 14 Alum
GMTWP Alum Michael R. Jackson's (Cycle 14) new musical A STRANGE LOOP will receive its world premiere at Playwrights Horizons beginning May 24th and running through July 7th.
Produced in association with Page 73, the show features music, lyrics, and book by Jackson with direction by Stephen Brackett.
The show follows Usher, a black, queer writer, working a day job he hates while writing his original musical: a piece about a black, queer writer, working a day job he hates while writing his original musical. The blistering, momentous new musical follows a young artist at war with a host of demons — not least of which, the punishing thoughts in his own head — in an attempt to capture and understand his own strange loop.
