The Sundance Institute named MFA candidate Leah Chen Baker a Producing Fellow of their 2022 Producers Lab.
Leah, who is also a Mark Silverman Honoree, will take her project The President’s Cake, written and directed by MFA candidate Hasan Hadi, into the fellowship’s Feature Film Program.

The President’s Cake synopsis: While people struggle daily to survive under sanctions in Saddam’s Iraq, nine-year-old Saeed must use his wits to gather ingredients for the mandatory cake to celebrate President Saddam Hussein’s birthday or face the consequences – prison or death.
