Current MFA student Huang Shuli won the Golden Horse Award for Best Documentary Short Film for his film “Will You Look At Me”.

Earlier presented at the 61st La Semaine de la Critique 2022 Cannes Film Festival where it won a Queer Palm, the film follows the story of a young Chinese filmmaker. As he returns to his hometown in search of himself, a long due conversation with his mother dives the two of them into a quest for acceptance and love.

“The world is full of fears. But I believe in tenderness, tenderness that resides deep in our hearts. I believe that there is no fear in love. I wish we could all keep making films. I wish we could all be honest to ourselves and to the world.” Huang said in his acceptance speech.
