“ON YOUR RADAR” IS A WEEKLY GRAD FILM NEWS SEGMENT THAT FEATURES A STUDENT PICKED AT RANDOM.

DAVID IS CURRENTLY A 3RD YEAR STUDENT AT GRAD FILM. WE ASKED HIM A FEW QUESTIONS, AND HERE’S WHAT HE HAD TO SAY:

Where do you consider home and what is it like there?

My home is Bern, Switzerland where I was born and raised. Life there is slower and more laid-back, which contrasts the busy city life here in New York. Nonetheless, I enjoy both worlds equally.

What is currently inspiring you as a filmmaker?

There is no "currently" really. The world around me is what inspires me everyday and that has always been the case. This could be a place, a person, an experience, a book, a piece of music or a scene from a movie. I can't trigger inspiration; it just happens when it happens and ideas come and go. It's a natural process and all I do is filter the ideas and write them down.

What has been your most rewarding experience at NYU Tisch Grad Film so far?

The second year film production period. It was such a pleasure to be able to work with so many talented filmmakers and together create something unique. The collaboration with my classmates was simply amazing and spending time with them both at school and outside of the classroom keeps reminding me how privileged I am.
