“Pier Kids”
The 2021 Film Independent Spirit Awards have been announced, with Grad Film studded projects Nomadland and Pier Kids as featured nominees.
The Chloe Zhao-helmed Nomadland received nominations for Best Feature, Best Director, Best Editing, and Best Female lead. Fellow alum Mollye Asher shares the Best Feature nomination alongside Zhao, and alum Joshua James Richards is nominated for Best CInematography for his work on the film.
Alum Elegance Bratton is up for the Truer Than Fiction Award for his directorial work on Pier Kids. The award is presented to an emerging director of non-fiction features who has not yet received significant recognition.
The ceremony will take place on April 22, 2021.
