Alumni Chananun Chotrungroj and Bo Mcguire took home awards in major categories at Tribeca 2020.
Mcguire was awarded Best Documentary for his film Socks on Fire. In this transgenerational docudrama, a poet composes a cinematic love letter to his grandmother as his homophobic aunt and drag queen uncle wage war over her estate in Hokes Bluff, Alabama.
Chotrungroj won Best Cinematography in the U.S. Narrative Feature category for Materna. The drama is a closely observed psychological portrait of four women, whose lives are bound together by an incident on the New York City subway.
