Grad Film Alum Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman will soon be the first movie ever to be screened at Broadway’s Belasco Theatre in New York City. The Netflix film, which premiered at this year’s New York Film Festival to rave reviews, will screen from November 1st through December 1st at the Belasco. The film, an epic saga on organized crime in postwar America told through the eyes of a hit man, is based on the 2004 memoir “I Heard You Paint Houses” by Charles Brandt.

Scorsese teamed up with his long-time collaborator and fellow NYU Grad Film Alum, Thelma Schoonmaker, who edited the film. The Hollywood Reporter calls it “a beautifully crafted piece of deluxe cinema.”

The Irishmen stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, and will be available on Netflix on November 27th.
