2021 Sundance Film Festival Awards Announced

The Sundance Film Festival held their awards ceremony on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, after the six day festival. The ceremony was hosted by Patton Oswalt.

Director of Hive, Blerta Basholi '12 (MFA, Kanbar Institute, Graduate Film), received the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic, Audience Award: World Cinema Dramatic, and the Directing Award: World Cinema Dramatic.

The 2021 Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize, presented to an outstanding feature film about science or technology, was presented to Son of Monarchs, directed, written, and produced by Alexis Gambis '14 (MFA, Kanbar Institute, Graduate Film) and produced by Maria Altamirano '17 (MBA, Stern) / '19 (MFA, Kanbar Institute, Graduate Film).
